The truth is that the homeowners probably don’t get tired of this bedroom’s beach view. But that doesn’t mean they never want to watch “American Idol.”

The challenge was finding a place to mount a flat-panel TV without destroying this Mission Beach vista just north of San Diego. The solution was placing the TV in a lift —under the bed.

Homeowners press a button on an RTI T2 remote to have the Samsung LED TV slide out and tilt into view.
