The center channel is not designed to be mounted on an angle like that, and the horizontal dispersion would now be on the floor and ceiling. The off axis seating in this room probably suffers.

The way the caption is worded doesn’t imply that the speaker is permanently mounted that way.  I agree that it could be permanent, but there’s no way to know for sure as written.

It sure looks like it descends out of that soffit just like it is shown, and it talks about the how the sound is firing through a micro-perf screen.  I don’t see how the right side can come down any further.

i know i’m late to this party, but it is iften said among audiphiles that center channel speakers in which the tweeter/drivers are horizontally arranged often suffer from dispersion issues.  Vertical arrays usually fare better; however, a diagonal array just might provide the best SIne wave response for the room. Keep in mind that the room is far from a conventional theater design (i.e. pool table in the back, elongated rear space)
