projectiondesign avielo optix SuperWide 235

Home theater projectors and screen manufacturers have enabled CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio viewing without the pesky black bars, usually requiring anamorphic lens or zoom. Looks like we’re anticipating some projectors at CEDIA that don’t require either – like this cool model from Norwegian manufacturer projection design. Rather than lose resolution like when projecting 2.35:1 on a 16:9 screen, the avielo optix SuperWide 235 is said to deliver an image of superwide 2538 x 1080 resolution without the use of additional optics, the company says. That’s how it formats a 1920 x 800 image for you to use with a CinemaScope aspect projection screen, while getting the full height of the picture and not worrying about potential clarity or brightness compromise an additional lens may bring.
