Basement Party

Briefly describe the objectives in creating this installation.
The homeowner wanted to finish the basement with a wide open area for entertaining. He wanted all of the aspects of a traditional movie theater, but did not want to box in a room for it. He did not want to see any of the gear when the system was not in use.

What technical features are notable in this project?
This project features a 110” motorized movie screen which tucks neatly inside the ceiling soffit. The projector is mounted at the rear of the space, inside the soffit. In-wall speakers and subwoofers make this media room a very stealth installation. When the system is on, the space transforms to a very theater-like experience. We used a high gain screen, with a bright projector to achieve very viewable images even when the rest of the room is lit up and being used.
