Briefly describe the objectives in creating this theater.
The objective was to create a world-class venue that combines the finest private theater entertainment with staging large enough for live classical concert charity events. Goals included:
Exploit room volume by adding private balcony with wet bar
Design theater architecture appropriate for a home with an extensive Art Deco collection
Specify an extreme performance audio/videophile system appropriate for 25,000 cubic foot environment that can also playback multi-channel music only performances for an audience of trained musicians
What technical features are notable in this project?
Main screen speakers are large venue oriented speakers, reference grade audio processing, audiophile amplification and high output 3-chip DLP 3D ready video projection. Acoustical treatment: 2” liner behind screen, 1” around the stage, side wall RPG BAD panels with 2” 6lb treatment. Stage treatments control first reflections, side BADs control broadband RT60 to under a second. All sources are HDMI, AC in racks routed away from LV wiring. For audiophile multi-channel music, the Blu-Ray Universal format player is connected with discrete analog channels. Video projection is 1080p, anamorphic cinema-scope and 3D ready.
