Rustic Appeal

Briefly describe the objectives in creating this theater.
The main objective for this theater was to create the ultimate space for an absolute movie, music, and fine art enthusiast who is a family man with a passion for contemporary and rustic interior designs. This theater was to feature clean lines, rich colors, as well as cut-stone and wood materials. The décor was meant to be a tribute to the nature elements of the lake and islands in the region. This theater was a place where all of the usual rules of interior design could be broken and a contemporary space with a casual rustic elegance could be geared toward high performance audio and video enjoyment.

What technical features are notable in this project?
This theater features a Crestron control system with simple and complete automated control of all functions of the audio and video system as well as the home theater environment. Sun Project motorized blackout shades and a Vantage lighting control system have been used to manage daylight and light fixtures.

Runco’s VX-8D 3-chip DLP projector including motorized anamorphic lens option in conjunction with Stewart Filmscreen 2.35:1/16:9 motorized aspect ratio control panels have been incorporated for correct aspect ratio viewing at all times. Sight lines have been optimized to allow a clear, unobstructed view for everyone in the audience.
