Briefly describe the objectives in creating this theater.
This home theater remodel had three primary objectives:
*Offer impressive performance
*Blend with the aesthetics of the home
*Be simple and intuitive to operate since this vacation home is frequented by friends and family who should be able to enjoy the theater without instruction
What technical features are notable in this project?
Although the room is relatively small, we were able to utilize a 122.5” wide 2.40:1 Stewart CineCurve Gray hawk screen with variable masking coupled with a Runco VX-22d projector and McKinley AutoScope system to create an impressive and immersive video experience.
A Denon 4308-CI w/Audyssey Pro software is utilized as an audio processor driving an ADA PTM-8150 8-channel power amplifier. Video processing is handled by the Runco DHD. Sources include a Kaleidescape system, Blu-Ray, and HD Cable. An AMX control system with wireless handheld Mio R4 remote provides powerful, yet intuitive control, for easy operation of the theater.
A number of existing structural framing issues presented challenges to installing a completely hidden 7.1 surround system which led to the addition of BG Radia side channel speakers to an otherwise Triad speaker ensemble featuring Gold/six Monitors, Gold/four Omni SE rears and five subwoofers powered by five DSP amplifiers.
