For all the personal stuff that makes him look like a buffoon, Tom Cruise makes some pretty solid movies. Of course, Cuba Gooding Jr. stole the show a bit in this one, but between the football/sports agent story and the romance/precocious kid story, it’s tough not to like this one from excellent director Cameron Crowe.
