3D HDTVs from Samsung began shipping as early as February, and hit store shelves at Sears, of all places. The retailer showed the $2,599 UN46C700 46-inch LED LCD 3D display, which on top of 3D capabilities includes 240Hz refresh, Touch of Color design, Internet@TV streaming connectivity and DLNA home networking.
Samsung followed that up by shipping the 55-inch UN55C700 version, for $3,299. To help end-users ease into 3D, it included a free starter kit containing the DreamWorks “Monsters vs. Aliens” Blu-ray disc and two pairs of active shutter glasses.
