Now we see why so many kids want to be President - they’ve got access to a pretty nice theater room. In the early 1940s, this was actually a coatroom. How many coats do presidents need? FDR apparently preferred movies over places to hang his hats. The area got its first makeover during the Reagan years, only to have Laura Bush add her two cents (and a lot of red) in 2004. It’s no Bat Cave, but the room does have Snell speakers and seating for 40. Also, if Obama feels like messing with people during a screening of “Avatar,” he can pull out a podium down front, since the room is also used for practicing speeches.
