Stands And Mounts (Grade: D+)

In the days of CRT and RPTV, Stands and Mounts was the place to go for stands and wall brackets (like the kind you might see in a hospital room).

While their product line has made the transition to include mounts for flat panel displays in a range of styles and prices, their mount finding tools haven’t kept up.

In fact, they’re nearly non-existent. While individual products have specs like weight capacity and compatible VESA mounting patterns listed, that’s the extent of the compatibility checking available.

Since the Website did offer so little, I gave the listed phone number a call to see if their phone support could offer more assistance. Unfortunately, what you see on the site is all the phone reps see as well, so if you’re buying from Stands and Mounts you better check compatibility on the manufacturer’s website ahead of time.

The only saving grace is that most of the brands offered do have a mount finder Web app of their own.
