Control4 My Home

Control4 was one of the first home control companies to announce love for the iPad. Speaking of love, it’s hard not to enjoy the company’s cool interface, which uses bright colors and pretty graphics for easy access to lighting, temperature, music, video, security systems and web cameras. The entire app has been redesigned to work with the iPad, with bigger, better graphics and an easier UI. Using the iPad, you can tap through custom lighting scenes, programmable thermostats and other home systems. Later this year, the company plans to add Control4 4Sight remote monitoring access, which will allow homeowners (for a fee) to control lights, doors and cameras from anywhere in the world. To authenticate the app, users will need a Mobile Navigator license, which runs about $99.

Current App Cost: Free
