Speaker Demands

TapouT and co-founder Dan Caldwell (shown), a.k.a. Punkass, gave his integrator very specific dimensions for the theater, which made speaker placement difficult.

“No one made a speaker for our needs. Design and space requirements required custom speakers for this project,” says Steve Payne, owner of Audio Video Evolution (AVE).

He ended up providing speaker manufacturer TruAudio with specs and having it build TapouT custom solutions.

For other audio components, AVE went with a B&K Reference 70 receiver and B&K Reference 200.7 and 200.5 amps.
