Trak-Kit really thought outside the box for this one. Instead of having the TV raise or lower from a hiding spot, its clever system of ceiling-mounted tracks lets you slide the TV out from a closet or a pocket in the wall.
The TV attaches to a pole that traverses along the track and can swivel the TV to proper viewing angle. Tucking the TV into a closet is pretty clever, but if there is no space available, you can push the TV against the wall and flip it to display artwork on the backside of the screen (Trak-Kit offers mounting hardware for your art).
Manual and motorized tracks are available, both of which can support TVs up to 500 pounds. You’ll pay a pretty penny for a cool Trak-Kit system (up to 10 feet long), but the company plans to offer more affordable Mini Track systems this year in 1- to 3-foot lengths.
Price: $1,500 to $5,000 for manual 10-foot track; $13,000 to $18,000 for a motorized 10-foot track; $400 to $1,000 for a manual Mini Track
