Sharp XV-Z20000, XV-Z3100

At either end of the spectrum Sharp introduces two new DLP front screen projectors for 2007, the XV-Z20000 and XV-Z3100. The high-gloss XV-Z20000 is Sharp’s first 1080p DLP projector. Its 12,000:1 contrast ratio coupled with the rated 1,000 ANSI lumens ensures a crystal clear image with a wide dynamic range from white to black. A user-controlled powered iris provides adjustable settings for brightness and contrast to compensate for different lighting situations in varying home theater environments. Sharp uses its proprietary CV-IC III Video Scaling Circuitry to unconvert all incoming signals to the native 1080p resolution of the XV-Z20000.

The XV-Z3100 720p DLP projector’s six-segment, five-speed color wheel contributes to the projector’s accuracy in color reproduction. While the contrast ratio is not nearly as high as the flagship XV-Z20000, the XV-Z3100 boasts an impressive 6,500:1 contrast ratio with the same brightness rating as its more expensive sibling. The XV-Z3100’s dual iris system adjusts brightness and enhances contrast to compensate for a variety of lighting environments. Designed to be portable, this widescreen projector will transform any room into a home entertainment center.
