The Philips’ 50-inch 50PL9126D/37 is a good example of the many reasonably priced DLP rear-projection microdisplays that are available with a 720p resolution, capable of reproducing the many high definition sources available from cable, satellite, Blu-ray, HD-DVD and next generation gaming consoles.
The 50PL9126D/37 includes Philips’ proprietary Pixel Plus technology that increases the number of lines and pixels for a sharp and highly detailed picture from any source, particularly standard definition TV. A 3D digital comb filter separates brightness and color signals to eliminate cross-color, cross luminance and dot-crawl distortion.
Picture and sound presets can be set up to provide different settings for various sources such as TV, DVD, music or games. Virtual Dolby Surround provides a more expanded soundfield from the TV’s internal speakers.
