Optoma BigVizion HDBV5120

When size really matters, check out the BigVizion line of rear projection TVs from Optoma. At the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Optoma introduced the 120-inch BigVizion HDBV5120 to its existing line that already includes 80-, 90- and 100-inch versions, all with 1080p resolution. All models use the DLP DarkChip3, more commonly used on front screen projectors, for superior color and contrast.

The BigVizion comes with Optoma’s proprietary video enhancement processor and light engine. The high contrast optical screen makes it possible to view the BigVizion in a darkened room or with the windows open for family entertainment.

The BigVizion TVs are customizable modular systems that can be installed into a wall or cabinet. Even the bezel can be customized for matching room decor. The screen assembly consists of three screens (lenticular, optical and clear acrylic) that fits into the frame after it has been installed inside the drywall. Of course, size does come at a premium. These babies run between $23,000 for the 80-inch model, up to $49,000 for the new 120-inch version.
