3D Technology

The premise behind three-dimensional television (3D) can be accomplished in a number of ways, according to Guidi.

“3D video presents a different image to each eye, using any of several methods that have been achieved in order to simulate seeing the scene stereo-optically [viewed from slightly to the left of center by the left eye and from slightly to the right from the right eye],” Guidi says.

“This recreates the same sense of depth that you would naturally perceive were you there in person. There is presently an attempt to standardize on a single method. There are also quite a few DVDs in 3D that include 3D glasses.”
