A small crowd gathered in a corner of a the secondary hall, far from the main CEDIA Expo 2009 floor. The group watched as flat-panel TVs automatically glided in and out of Touchstone’s living room and bedroom cabinets.
Hidden TV lift technology isn’t new. In fact, maybe Touchstone’s remote exhibit – far away from that of Chief, Premier Mounts and other TV lift manufacturers – helped create its buzz. Jeff Sheahan, Touchstone CEO, suggests that the crowd is drawn to the furniture’s refined designs. He says Touchstone has furniture-making roots, which helps set it apart from competitors.
Sheahan contends that Touchstone’s patent-pending technology makes its lifts remarkably silent.
Installers like Touchstone’s lifts, Sheahan says, because all software and electronics can be housed in “plug and play” control boxes and cable management is easy.
