This series of modular matrix switchers is so new that the company isn’t sure it’s going to stick with that name. The 2000 Series is a working name, says product manager Trent Davis, but Audio Authority needed to call the products something during CEDIA Expo 2009. It’s shooting for a release toward the end of Q1 2010.
The modular system can be configured with up to 184 outputs. It features:
*Highly customizable, modular matrix system
*Configurations from 4x4 to 12x184
*Bus architecture enables simple, quick expansion
*Breakaway audio/video switching
*Ethernet, serial, IR, and front panel control options
“It’s expandable and modular for easy customization and upgrades,” Davis says. He envisions installers using it for both residential and commercial applications.
Davis says 8-input systems will start at $2,500 and 12-input systems will start at $3,000.
