Service in a Tight Squeeze
The client wanted to feature his equipment as a focal point of the home, but did not want the equipment located in the theater room, so we put it in the ante room. But the ante room is just wide enough for the three racks.
Since there is no back access available, servicing the racks became a challenge. We ganged the right two racks together, allowing a single technician to pull out the two racks, step in behind, perform any service and, if necessary, slide out the single rack to work on it.
Very narrow spot MR-16 light fixtures were installed (dimmed via the Lutron Homeworks system) to highlight each column of equipment with a narrow shaft of light.
