One of the best albums of the 1990s, “Throwing Copper” is the band’s most successful effort. With singles that includes “Lightning Crashes,” “I Alone” and “Selling the Drama” the album has overall pretty good sonic quality and its dynamics haven’t been totally squashed by compression.
Because of the album’s popularity almost every song on this record is recognizable to 30- and 40-something rock fans, and songs still receive regular airplay on the radio today.
Signature Test Track: As we’ve already noted this album’s success was driven by the popularity of a number of songs. For the sake of this exercise just pop in “I Alone.” This song will bring lots of energy and rock-and-roll attitude to any demo session.
