Warner Bros. Goes Blu

01/04/08: With its vast and deep catalog containing films and franchises such as “Casablanca,” “The Matrix,” “Batman” and “Lord of the Rings,” Warner Bros. was an important linchpin prolonging the survival of HD DVD. To the great surprise of the HD DVD Promotions Group, on the eve of the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, Warner Bros. announced it would end its dual-format support and become a Blu-ray exclusive studio before summer. For HD DVD, the proverbial Fat Lady was finally singing - and she was singing the Blu’es.
