4. Kansas Heroics Top Memphis

March Madness can often end in March Disappointment, at least if you’re looking for a sizzling title game—at least Florida’s two-year stranglehold on the crown didn’t leave much nail-biting as the Gators breezed through two straight Final Fours. This year was different. Great matchup, great game, great finish. Definitely one for the ages as it seemed Memphis was headed to victory, only to see Kansas score a miracle finish in regulation, capped by Mario Chalmers’ last-second 3-pointer, and then win in overtime. Billy Packer might be controversial as an announcer, but even he couldn’t prevent CBS from delivering a first-rate broadcast (and I generally give CBS the overall nod in sports HD for its outstanding video and audio) and an especially appropriate “One Shining Moment” this year.
