5. Texas tips Oklahoma

Oklahoma might still go on to win the BCS Championship (as this is written before the Sooners play Florida), but Texas earned bragging rights in this year’s Red River Rivalry game. As usual, there was BCS outcry thanks to the Sooners’ movement past the Longhorns and into the Big 12 title game (and the BCS game after that victory) because Texas won the head-to-head battle. It was one of the rare instances this season Oklahoma was held below 50 points, and a thriller throughout, especially in the second half, when Texas pulled ahead for good in the 45-35 win in Dallas. A close call between this and the Texas-Texas Tech game for this list (both on ABC HD), but this afternoon broadcast was dazzling in every way.
