Goldster Audio Concertino

In case you thought the Krell unit was pricey… Goldster laughs in the face of iPod docks under three grand. This pricey unit swipes some of its style from Apple, and why not? You’re not shelling out $3,700 to have it clash. One thing you are getting for that money: triple-core cables that are only available through Goldster. The company touts the high quality at a small diameter. That translates to music that sounds in your face, without cables to trip over. The equipment is nothing to sneeze at either. Aside from the small-but-mighty matching speaker set, this solid aluminum and hardened glass set houses a triode tube-based 190-watt amplifier. The company says that “triodes allow for simple and ingenious circuits, which are… the simplest and most distortion-free way of amplifying a signal.” Sadly, technology like that is going to cost you, but it would be a nice treat after all the iPod has given us.

Price: $3,700
