Robert Plant’s ego is inflated enough without adding a Zeppelin-inspired iPod dock into the mix. Thankfully, Bowers & Wilkins used the blimp as their musical inspiration for this unit, which makes the most of that classic rock, rap, jazz, or whatever else you want to crank through it. One thing we like: the drive units are the same ones you’d find in the company’s M-1 system. If that’s all geek speak to you, just know that the amp can output 1x 50W (bass) 2x 25W (midrange/tweeter), the frequency range is 6dB at 47Hz and 22kHz, and its got an internal subwoofer driver. Compact enough to tuck under your arm, B&W also boasts the system’s ability to catch detail that other iPod speakers often miss. Designed to dock the latest generation of iPods, it also works well with older models, as well as other MP3 players—but won’t charge them.
