On the opposite end of the spectrum, the TAD room—with Andrew Jones’ behemoth Reference One speakers and TAD’s own suite of electronics—delivered big audio gear and bigger sound. The blues riffs and bluesy female vocals on the tracks played in here were enough to make the attendees melt in what seemed like an intimate live gig just for them. With the speakers upwards of $80K and the amps nearing $70K, the sound ought to be big and bold and that was certainly the case. Huge but relatively humbling, not overpowering but really balanced and nuanced and definitely not bloated at all. Pretty much just right, and a good way for me to end my rooms tour.
