Totem Acoustic, MBL and Clarus

Totem president Vince Bruzzese was on hand to happily extoll the virtues of the Canadian company’s beautiful Element Series Metal loudspeakers ($14K/pair), which are available in black or white and in this case the latter made sense to go with the hefty MBL electronics that local dealer The Source AV culled together, and connected with the excellent Clarus Crimson series cables. Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” on a demo CD truly soared and yielded a big soundstage to go with the big band. On the other side of the room, Boulder components were feeding Totem’s Forest Signature speakers ($9K/pair), which can be had in cherry and mahogany, and presented Ray Lamontagne’s “You Can Bring Me Flowers” with smooth and natural tone with some nice vibrancy.
