Magico and Synergistic Research

I finally got to hear for myself a pair of speakers from lauded Magico, in this case the Q7s that were featured with a VAC electronics and a demo of Synergistic Research’s Tranquility Base active isolation platforms on all the electronics as well as the company’s Galileo interconnects. The system produced stunning music that flowed throughout the 30-by-30 ballroom put together by local dealer Scott Walker Audio. The Q7s sounded big and full and weighty, with all the dynamics and depth you could want in an ultimate music setup. The active shielding of the isolation platforms were powered on and off in certain places throughout the demo, showing the differences that led to a fuller, more dimensional result with these accessories. Leonard Cohen’s “Alexandra Leaving” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Dead Man Walking” illustrated the system’s ability to handle low, husky male voices flawlessly and effortlessly.
