Sonance In-Wall Subwoofers

If you really want to feel those crunches and clashes this Sunday, there’s nothing like a good subwoofer to put the boom of body blows into your room. Mark Recene, chief innovation officer and VP of sales for HS Technology Group, says that a few of his customers are looking to add a new sub in time for the game.

However, not just any sub. The Pikeville, Maryland, company can really get the room rattling with one of Sonance’s in-wall subwoofers. The company’s latest include the SUB10-250, the SUB12-500 and the SUB10-250 RETRO. The first two have a tall shallow enclosure that is screwed between the stud bay and finished behind the drywall, so that only a microtrim bezel grille is visible. The SUB10-250 RETRO has an integrated shallow cabinet and driver that can be installed into a mounting surface, such as drywall. That SUB12-500 uses a 12-inch woofer and a 500-watt Class D amp, with the SUB10-250 packing in a 10-inch woofer and a 250-watt Class D amp. The SUB10-250 RETRO also has a 10-inch woofer, but requires the Cinema SUB 10-250 amplifier, which is sold separately.
