Geek Holiday Chic

It may not be much to look at, but this little board is perfect for the DIYer in the family. As part of the Texas Instruments (TI) microcontroller LaunchPad ecosystem, it can actually create some killer holiday applications—with the right tweaks, of course. For instance, the C2000 LaunchPad can be used to deliver motorized control and automation to a holiday train set. There’s also the MSP430 LaunchPad, which can help create a unique light show. If you’re looking for a few ideas, there’s a whole community out there ready to give you pointers. One person actually used the MSP430 to tie his Christmas lights to the Star Wars theme song last year. The possibilities are endless!
