How do you top an Oscar-winning super-villain? This all-star third installment of The Dark Knight trilogy is a good place to start—or end, anyway. Christopher Nolan wraps up his Christian Bale-helmed franchise with an entertaining film, as well as Bane (Tom Hardy) and Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). Rounding out the cast is Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman and Matthew Modine.
Considering how great The Dark Knight Blu-ray is, it shouldn’t be a surprise that this 2.40:1 image is a winner, with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track to match. The extras may look skimpy on paper, but there’s an entire Blu-ray with several featurettes tucked under “The Batmobile.” The 3-disc set also includes a standard-def DVD and the UltraViolet Digital Copy.
