Rescue 3D

At just 46 minutes, this IMAX-approved documentary is short, but thrilling. It’s also a stellar example of 3D technology, allowing viewers to ride shotgun with four emergency workers, during dangerous daily manuevers and Haiti’s post-earthquake recovery efforts.

The 1.78:1 image is a stellar one, in both 2D and 3D. The 3D is a lot of fun though, and probably makes this film slightly more interesting to watch. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is also a nice match, making it a pretty immersive experience. Otherwise, it’s sort of a skimpy set, with just the one disc with 2D and 3D versions of the film, as well as bios and interview reels for each of the film’s four subjects.
