The Master of Suspense is now the Master of Blu-ray. This massive box set features 15 Hitchcock films—with 13 of those being new to the high-def format. The films in the set are Saboteur, Shadow of a Doubt, Rope, Rear Window, The Trouble with Harry, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho, The Birds, Marnie, Torn Curtain, Topaz, Frenzy, and Family Plot.
There’s no word on aspect ratios or audio tracks, but we’re expecting it to be a bit of a mixed bag. Otherwise, the collection includes a ton of extras, with 15 hours of documentaries, filmmaker commentaries, interviews, screen tests, trailers and a new documentary titled, “The Birds, Hitchcock’s Monster Movie.” If that’s not enough, the whole thing is packaged up with a 50-page book that has storyboards, costume sketches, correspondence, photographs, and much more.
