Annie

The sun will come out tomorrow; this Blu-ray came out yesterday. That means that everyone’s favorite orphan has finally received the upgrade she deserves—to high-def. This is the classic with Aileen Quinn as the title character and Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks, the billionaire with the bald head and the heart of gold. Also look for awesome/evil performances by Carol Burnett, Tim Curry and Bernadette Peters.

Leapin’ lizards! This 30th anniversary Blu-ray doesn’t have a ton of extras, but is still a major improvement over its DVD predecessor. Expect a 2.40:1 image, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, sing-alongs, trailers, and a peek at Quinn’s career.
