The 2010 film Piranha 3D turned out to be a mild hit, thanks to an all-star cast and a campy delivery of bikinis, blood, and well… more bikinis. So of course, filmmakers decided to squeeze a little more blood out of the concept and put out this poorly received sequel. If you thought the last film was ridiculous (in a bad way), just know that the bulk of this film takes place inside a waterpark. That could happen, right?
If that’s not enough of a surprise, know that this low budget film doesn’t look low budget at all, with a nice 1.78:1 aspect ratio and a bumping DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. The 3-disc combo pack is your only option, so even if you don’t want the 3D disc, you’re getting one, along with DVD and Digital Copy versions. Other extras include deleted scenes, an audio commentary, and a short (less than 8 minutes!) about the production. Also, stars David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey, and Anchorman’s David Koechner each get separate featurettes. So does John McEnroe—which has absolutely nothing to do with the movie.
