The Aristocats

It’s not the best of what’s left inside the Disney vault, but this 1970 film’s Blu-ray debut should have you purring with delight. It follows the story of pampered kitty Duchess (Eva Gabor) and her equally spoiled three kittens. When her owner dies and leaves her fortune to the kitties, bumbling butler Edgar (Roddy Maude-Roxby) tries his hand at being a cat-burglar.

Disney restored this one with great care, so the 1.78:1 aspect ratio should look purr-fect. Otherwise, it’s got a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track and a DVD copy of the movie. Other extras include multiple featurettes revolving around the music, as well as deleted scenes. A nice little bonus is that there are two animated shorts: “The Great Cat Family” and “Bath Day.”
