Silent House

Indie darling Elizabeth Olsen does her best to keep viewers close the edge of their seats in this 2012 remake of La casa muda.  However, unless the gimmick of “real time,” some shaky-cam, and a lot of dark imagery spooks you, this film will probably be a bit of a disappointment.

The Blu-ray is a bummer too, with a super-dark 1.85:1 image and just a few jumps from the DTS-HD Master Audio track. Besides the audio commentary with co-directors Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, the 2-disc release includes a standard-def DVD and UltraViolet Digital Copy of the movie.

Rating: R
Runtime: 86 minutes
