American Reunion

Was another slice of American Pie really necessary? Probably not, but fans of the franchise will appreciate this latest installment. It’s been 9 years since the last theatrical release, but this one is actually the best since the original. Also, it includes all of the original cast fighting off age with a few immature hijinks.

The 2-disc set has a decent (but not great) 1.85:1 image and a nice DTS-HD Master Audio track. The extras are plentiful as well, with commentary, multiple featurettes, an unrated version, an on-screen “Out of Control” commentary, and plenty of alternate and deleted scenes. As an added bonus, the set has a standard-def DVD and an UltraViolet Digital Copy of the movie.
