Treasure Planet: 10th Anniversary Edition

Disney’s 43rd feature film isn’t its most beloved—in fact, it was quite the bomb. That said, the positive reviews and the vocal talents of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Hyde Pierce, Martin Short and Emma Thompson should pique your interest. If not, there is the whole Treasure Island-inspired story of a cabin boy, his cyborg friend, and a bunch of pesky aliens.

The content may have been disappointing to some, but Disney certainly knows its Blu-ray. Expect this 1.66:1 aspect ratio to be a stunner, with a DTS-HD Master Audio track to match. In honor of the film’s 10th anniversary, this release does have quite a few extras. Look for production featurettes, commentary and deleted scenes, as well as a piece for the kiddos titled, “DisneyPedia: The Life of a Pirate Revealed.” The 2-disc set also includes a standard-def DVD of the movie.
