Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

A few weeks back, Gary Oldman’s version of the 1974 novel came to Blu-ray. Now, it’s time to travel back to the BBC miniseries. Before Alec Guinness was handed a lightsaber, he wielded his Jedi powers as super-spy George Smiley—and it was good!

Don’t expect the same sparkly presentation seen in the recent release. This late ‘70s import has a 1.33:1 aspect ratio and a Dolby Digital 2.0 track. There’s also a decent amount of extras, including separate interviews with director John Irvin and author John le Carré.

Rating: NR
Runtime: 324 minutes
Total Number of Discs: 2
Studio: Acorn Media
