The RTI XP8 processor, which allows the family to operate the theater, lights and other electronic devices in and around the house, was programmed so the projector will only fire up and the screen roll down from a soffit after sunset. If someone tries to turn on the theater before then, the command is ignored.
The same RTI waterproof remote and iPad that activate the theater can also be used to turn off all the lights around the outdoor viewing area to create a blacker-than-black backdrop for the movie.
The RTI XP8 also takes cues from a nearby weather station. If the weather station detects a wind velocity over 10 mph, it signals the RTI system, which rolls up the screen and shuts down the system.
