Sony XBR-55HX929 LED

Sony’s 55-inch Bravia H DTV sports the company’s new X-Reality Pro two-chip picture engine, which analyzes videos by outline, texture, color and contrast, pixel by pixel, before adding necessary enhancements, thereby reducing the risk of overprocessing the picture. This system is especially useful for enhancing the lower quality video that is sometimes found on streaming sites. The Bravia is powered by full-array LED backlighting with local dimming for deeper blacks. The screen uses a Corning Gorilla Glass panel for a sturdy and light frameless design. Smart TV offerings include a variety of music and video services, plus Skype video calling and DLNA. $2,899
