Android Catches Up with iOS

Apple may still be in the lead, but Android marketshare has been skyrocketing this year, in both smart phones and in tablets. Admittedly a large portion of Andoid’s tablet share comes from the Amazon Kindle Fire, which isn’t a full-fledged tablet, but it still opens the possibility that Android will be come more significant in the home control world. 2011 even saw the launch of a voice-controlled music system, Voco,( http://www.electronichouse.com/article/vocos_voice-activated_music_system_the_next_big_thing/) that works only through Android devices (an iOS version is in the works). Android tables are available from a dozen or more manufacturers are a wide range of prices and size varieties, so that may entice more people to try Android apps to control their home theaters, manage their music or turn on their lights.
