Back when the San Marcos, Calif.based company introduced its A3-S loudspeaker, it said it took 14 years to develop that product. The company applied what it had learned with the A3-S to design its new, compact ClairAudient 2+2 speaker. The 2+2 utilizes four of Audience’s full-range A3-S drivers, which it says allows the company to eliminate crossover networks. At the heart of this trickle-down design approach is the inclusion of the A3-S driver, which has a patented neodymium magnet motor structure and an aluminummagnesium alloy cone that are said to help reproduce a frequency range of 40Hz to 22kHz. Audience also implements its SSIT SweetSpace Imaging Technology to create a wider listener area.
