Here in New England, Hurricane Irene put a serious dent in my schedule (not to mention my electricity) last week, so apologies for not posting a round-up of last week’s offerings. Rather than dwell on the past, we’re moving forward. Before we do though, here’s a look at some of last week’s more notable releases.

As for a “Pick of the Week,” that would have been a toss-up between Lionsgate’s long overdue release of the underrated gem Rounders and the don’t-ask-questions-just-watch-it wonder that is Magnolia’s Trollhunter.
