DIY Theatre was awarded a US Patent for the non-interference pigment technology we have introduced for digital and high definition front projection. It is this technology that sets us apart from other screens available on the market including the most expensive traditional screen fabrics. This is a liquid polymer formulation that applies just like paint. The White Platinum Screen is available in several contrast levels to accommodate various ambient light conditions and projector performances. Gain ranges from 1.20 to 1.30 depending on level of contrast enhancement and features generous viewing angles over 65 degrees. The White Platinum screen is sold as a kit that can make up to 90 square feet of image area. Each kit includes a high quality primer sealer, the optical topcoat and roller covers made to DIY Theatre specifications. This is a water based polymer coating and clean-up is easy with soap and water. The nature of this product allows for the home owner or other installer to have full control over the size and location of the product. The projector can display an image and that image size and height can be determined by the end-user. No need for measuring and no issues about custom sizes.

There are several advantages to our "paintable" screen. The most important relates to performance with the use of non-interference pigment technology. Unlike traditional semi-translucent pearlescent pigments the optical pigments from DIY Theatre reflect the projected light more efficiently reducing color shift and increasing viewing angles. This also provides full control over the size and location of the image. We recommend that the projector be permanently mounted and then adjust the height and size until you find what looks perfect for your project. Then install our screen with no measuring required or custom size issues. Our screen will not wrinkle or ladder mark and the edges will not curl in - it will always be flat on the wall. DIY Theatre screen kits make up to 90 square feet of image area and the cost is much less than almost every other screening alternative. Our product is water based and very user friendly. There are no solvents or that typical chemical and ammonia smell of regular paint.
