Proficient ZERO® is a wireless audio system designed specifically for whole-house audio distribution that can be expanded to cover as many as 16 zones. Proficient ZERO transmits high-quality legacy analog and optical PCM stereo sound plus a subwoofer (LFE) channel as far as 90 feet, eliminating the need for costly wire runs through walls. An optional extender system increases the range up to 190 feet. The basic two-piece system consists of the Proficient ZERO transmitter and receiver, which has a built-in 35 watt per channel digital amp as well as stereo line-level and subwoofer output. The receiver features analog stereo and optical PCM inputs for local sources. The receiver remote control allows selection from analog or optical from either the broadcast or local sources. One transmitter can feed as many as eight receivers and two transmitters can be used in close proximity. Proficient has a reputation of making great sounding products. When it came to designing the amplification stage of the receiver and separate amp, Proficient chose the Texas Instruments Equibit® digital amplfiers. The Equibit amplifiers have a reputation in the audiophile community as being among the best sounding and most articulate digital amps. Optional components allow Proficient ZERO to work in a variety of residential or commercial applications: 35 watt x 2 amplified receivers for additional rooms; a wireless preamp/receiver can be used with separate amplifier or home theater system; a 40 watt per channel digital amp; and a wireless stereo speaker system that can receive from Bluetooth™ devices. With the Proficient ZERO system, adding music in any room is easy: connect the transmitter to the sources, the receiver to a pair of speakers and subwoofer if desired. The amplifier or the receiver can also be used as a utility amp to get better sound from TVs and computers.
