2013 Product of the Year Entrant
Panamax’s MR4000 home theater power management solution features a sleek, elegant design to complement any A/V system, while offering advanced protection from surges/spikes and maximizing equipment performance. For optimal A/V quality, the MR4000’s Level 2 Noise Filtration eliminates performance-robbing AC noise. This is combined with Protect or Disconnect® and Automatic Voltage Monitoring (AVM) circuitry, which protect valuable electronics from power problems. The MR4000 features eight surge-protected outlets - seven rear panel plus a front-panel convenience outlet - in addition to coaxial and LAN pass-through protection ports. Equally graceful on a shelf, TV stand, or rack, the MR4000 represents professional-level technology in the most affordable component power management solution ever offered from Panamax.

While other solutions are content with merely meeting nationally recognized laboratory standards, the MR4000 has been over-designed, with testing over and beyond these standards - to the limits of what can be experienced by a home's internal wiring. To achieve this, the unit is bolstered with several exclusive Panamax technologies. For complete power protection, the MR4000's AVM circuitry protects connected equipment against prolonged over/under voltages by disconnecting the power in unsafe conditions and automatically reconnecting it when safe power returns. In the event of a catastrophic surge such as lightning, Panamax's Protect or Disconnect circuitry completely disconnects AC power to connected equipment. In addition, the MR4000 also accounts for low-voltage surges with universal coaxial, telephone, and LAN (RJ-45) protection. These signal pathways act as a backdoor for surges and spikes that often go unprotected with other protection solutions.
In addition to rock-solid protection, the MR4000 stands out from the pack in that it is also engineered to provide maximum performance from connected equipment. Many A/V and home theater systems are plagued by electrical noise from switching power supplies, large appliances, and the power grid itself, which degrades picture and sound quality. The MR4000's Level 2 Noise Filtration, eliminates common symptoms of contaminated power, including loss of detail, pops, hisses, hums, and visual artifacts, allowing equipment to perform to its best.
And while most power management products live a long and quiet life out of the spotlight until dire circumstances arise, the Panamax MR4000 brings much more to the table. The foundation of power and performance for any home theater system, the MR4000 doesn't over-"power" the overall system aesthetics, but complements other components and provides a graceful statement, while packing tremendous peace of mind under the hood.
As the first Panamax component-level product to be offered for less than $200, the MR4000 provides an incredible value for entry to mid-level home theater systems. For end users, the unit's AVM and Protect or Disconnect circuitry provide the peace of mind that their A/V equipment is completely protected from lightning strikes and other power problems, reducing device failures and system downtime. For installers, long-term costs are also reduced by decreasing equipment replacement and service calls. Furthermore, with the optimal sound and video quality provided by the MR4000's Level 2 Noise Filtration, they can be confident that their clients are receiving the most from their home theater investment. And while power management isn't typically considered to be the most glamorous of product categories, the MR4000 allows end users and integrators to receive all of these benefits while introducing a touch of class and elegance with a soft yet sophisticated industrial design to enhance any system.
